Ft. Wilderness Premium vs. Preferred

Can anyone tell me the difference between the preferred and the premium sites at Ft. Wilderness. The web site doesn't give much of a description between the two. Of course other than the $$ difference.

RE: Questions About Top Sail State Park - Florida

We were in Site 27 about a week and a half ago. It was our first trip and we can't wait until next year. I second above no bugs and very close to the swimming pool. The tram starts at 9:00 am and runs every hour and then a last run at 7:30. Beware there were jelly fish every where around the 1st of July. Our favorite restaurants were Pompano Joe's on the beach in Destin. Also Fudpuckers in Destin. Food is ok at Fudpuckers, but the kids get to hold a live baby alligator. Also as many others have said Donut Hole for breakfast. This is just about a mile an a half down the road from Topsail. Also check out the Friday night family movie in the campfire circle. One last hint do not go to Walmart on Saturday evening. We stood in the check out line for an hour. Sunday morning Walmart was a ghost town. We discovered Publix on our last day. It's much closer.

Memphis area stop over

We're looking for a one night stay in the Memphis area. We were looking at Tom Sawyers, but I'm afraid the Mississippi might be to high by the time we get there on the 30th.

Hattiesburg MS to Top Sail which way to go?

I'm heading from Arkansas to Topsail and will be spending the night at Paul B. Johnson State Park just south of Hattiesburg. I had planned on taking Hwy 98 to Mobile. However, now I see that Hwy 49 south out of Hattiesburg to I-10 might be a good option. I'm driving a Tahoe with a 21 ft TT. Any good advise?

How to weigh a TT

What is the correct way to weigh a TT. I would assume weigh TV and TT together and then come back and weigh just the TV and subtract the two. It this correct?

Fayetteville,AR to Top Sail

We are going to Top Sail next month. I'm looking for a good park for an overnight stay somewhere around Magee or Mendenhall Mississippi. I just hope to get in that area the first day. I think I've heard others talk above parks in this area. I don't need anything special just a good family setting.

RE: Arkansas

The Beaver Dam Site is a bad choice right now. I took the family up there to see the high water two weeks ago. I've never see it so high. Almost 75% of the sites are currently underwater with no relief in sight. As a matter of fact we got close to another inch of rain day before yesterday. The Corp was suppose to open the flood gates to relieve this extra water. The lake is currently around 10 feet above normal pool level. However, there are some good locations in Eureka Springs. Wonder Lust campground on Passion Play Rd. gets me vote.

RE: Branson Missouri - help

If your going to be there for more than a few days I would suggest an "All City Pass". This is Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, and White Water. With the All City Pass you also get %15 off at SDC Campground. As for SDC Campground that is the only place I like to stay. My kids love it and it's close to everything. With the 15% off you can't beat the price. Its around $25 per day. I would suggest looking at the site map to request a site that you would like. Some are better than others as far as being able to get in and out of.

RE: NW Arkansas/ SW Missouri

I'm not sure what you have in mind by Fayetteville area but maybe this will help. Devils Den is a great scenic area in the edge of the Boston Mountains 30 minutes or so out of Fayetteville. I'm not sure if these spaces can be reserved. Beaver lake has several great campgrounds. Hickory Creek or Horse Shoe Bend being the closest to Fayetteville(30 minutes). Personally I prefer the dam site loop with is on an island across from the dam. However, this is about an hour or so from Fayetteville. These COE do not offer reservations. Whistler or Southgate do not get my vote. I wouldn't stay at Southgate with my family. Roaring River and Table Rock are excellent as well if you want to venture farther north.

We're going from Fayetteville, AR to Topsail. I'm looking for somewhere to spend the night in the Vicksburg, MS area. This seems to be about half way for us.
